The Demy – a Fun New Kitchen Toy

Awhile back I had the opportunity to test drive blogger friend Sophie’s great new gadget, the Demy. It’s a digital recipe reader that lets you sync up your personal recipe collection into a touch screen device that you set right on your kitchen counter. Here’s a few pictures I snapped showing some of its features.

When I had the Demy on, all the pictures I took gave it a brown frame, so here it is off. You can see it is shiny white. And by the way, it is kitchen safe and cleans up easily.

It is small.

It comes with many recipes already loaded into it, a few of mine included. After scrolling through the index, I pulled up my recipe for Peach Buckle.

Here are some screen shots showing my recipe. I remember this is super delicious, so if you have fresh peaches to use up, I can recommend this yummy treat!

This shot shows the features available, easily accessible at the bottom of the screen.

There’s a handy converter.

And a handy timer.

Be sure to check out all it can do at mydemy.com.

I’m sorry I don’t have a Sweet Freedom treat or any food pictures to show you. It’s been a long hard week at the office and record breaking heat every day and I’m whipped. I’ve done nothing but assemble salads and make frozen veggie stirfrys with Amy’s soup sauce, which is tasty and healthy enough, but certainly not blog worthy. I will, however, be making birthday party dessert today and will be back with party pics soon!

I need this. Right now when I cook, the my recipe file is on my laptop or I am looking at the cookbook, also in the living room. So I keep running back and forth. Oh why do I have to be so broke right now. The link for this is being added to my bookmarks. About time that they develop a kitchen friendly computer for recipes.

A very cool gadget! Looks like fun. And sometimes, all you can do is reheat or defrost!

That looks like a very cool gadget indeed. Especially for the recipes I have on my laptop - my husband always get on me because I put it right by me in the kitchen & he's afraid I'm going to spill something on it!

Cool! What a neat little gadget.

This is a fantastic gadget! I'm a cook and I keep bugging my manager to get something like this. Right now we have four of those huge three-ring binders full of recipes and it's always disorganized and a complete mess. I might need to pitch this to the boss.

Looks like fun. Sure beats trying to read recipes on my teensy iPhone.

Ooh, I've been wanting one of those!

That looks like a cool gadget! A little out of my price range for sure, but very cool still.

Oooooh! WANT! I drag my whole laptop into the kitchen, but I'm terrified I'm going to kill it with spilled liquids or knock it off the bench (I am a very very messy cook :P)

So much smaller than my laptop in the kitchen! I'm tempted to get a projection screen of some sort...wouldn't that be a hoot?

Wow. This is so neat! I may have to order one of these for my kitchen. Much easier then a recipe book, and takes up a lot less space!

This is the neatest kitchen tool ever. Really a good choice for going a little more green with the environment.

A nifty little device. I may have to get myself one of these.
