Pretty Bread
This is really easy to do. I used fresh chives, parsley, and sage to decorate my tomato bread, which I’m still trying to perfect.
1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Have a bowl of ice water nearby.
2. Put your herbs into the boiling water for just a few seconds, then scoop them out and put them into the ice water. Lay them out on towels and pat them dry. The parsley was a little difficult to unwrinkle completely.
3. Make an “egg” wash by mixing 1 tablespoon soymilk powder with 2 tablespoons water.
4. Just before your bread is ready to bake, brush on the wash, arrange your herbs, then apply another wash.
5. Bake and enjoy!
I hope to get my tomato bread recipe like I want it, then make this red and green bread for Christmas gifts.

"pretty" doesn't even BEGIN to describe this bread - it's such a work of art, oh my goodness!! and thank you for the recipe :0)
I love Luna S'mores! I think that's the first Luna I ever tried, oh-so-many years ago.
Your bread is so lovely :o).
WOW, I've never seen anything like that! Very Cool!
so very creative and pretty, I love it.
How pretty, and what a fantastic idea! I've never seen this before, at least definitely not with bread. Inspired.
How wonderful and pretty. You certainly do not need to perfect it further :)
Hello there!
That's so creative! I'll have to try that sometime, of course with credit to you. I've actually never had tomato bread before, so I've gotta experiment with some anyway!
Cooooool!
What beautiful bread decoration! Makes it look like a piece of art rather than bread!
That is GORGEOUS! What a terrific bread that would be for a Thanksgiving dinner! So festive!
Please sign the petition against Guillermo Habacuc Vargas, the 'artist' who starved a dog as an 'art exhibition', and/or spread the story to others. Here is the coverage so far: http://reiskeks-natividad.blogspot.com/ Thank You!
What a work of art! So creative! I am yet to attempt to make my own bread, but when I do, I'll be taking your idea! Thankyou.
wow.. that is just stunning.
beautiful! Really beautiful!
very extra pretty!!
Gorgeous and a great idea. All kinds of ideas are now swirling around in my head. I bet you could do something very creative with the addition of some nuts and seeds as well.
Belissima!
That's amazing!
WHAT?! That is so beautiful!
Beautiful! What a wonderful gift these little loaves would make. Hmm. Christmas is just around the corner. Great idea!
again - amazing! so beautiful and so inviting... mmmm. I can't wait to try something like this.

Great! Just great!
I'm not a vegan (I think you're misguided) however that bread is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Oooooh! So pretty! Thanks for inspiring me to make that ale bread recipe I've been sitting on! =)
Omnivore: Don't you think it's a bit presumptious (not to mention rude) to say a vegan is "misguided". I don't know of anybody who entered into veganism on a whim, or by being led into it by someone taking advantage of their susceptibility to suggestion. People tend to stick to a diet and/or lifestyle because it works for them, or because they are too lazy to change it. I think it would be quite hard to be lazy about being a vegan. It takes effort, and gives rewards (to other beings as well as yourself).
BTW, I am not a vegan, just veggie, but, if for no other reason, why would you want to pay multinational conglomerates owned by old money to kill animals for you? Misguided indeed.
How sad that all it takes is one link on Boing-Boing to start bringing in comments from anonymous people who feel it is their uninformed duty to diss veganism. Whatever. You're lovely bread here is amazing! Wish I could have tasted it :)
i'm really excited about trying this one.
Elegant in its simplicity.
Perfect for holidays and gift giving.
Thanks!
The idea itself is simple, but nevertheless I've never seen anyone do it!:) Well I'm so totally borrowing that;)

Trolling? By defending veganism? That doesn't make sense.
