A couple of commenters on my last post asked for the recipe for the bread I made, so here it is:
Buttermilk Wheat Bread (bread machine)
(adapted from Better Homes and Gardens)
1 cup sour nondairy milk (1 T. cider vinegar added to milk, stirred, and left to stand 5 minutes)
¼ cup water
1 T. canola oil
1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1-1/2 cups bread flour
1 T. sugar
1 T. wheat gluten
¼ cup finely chopped toasted nuts or seeds
¾ t. salt
1 packet active dry yeast
Put in bread machine as directed and bake on basic cycle.
I've been to the farmers market this morning and am getting a start on tomorrow's Taco Dinner. The chili peppers are making me sneeze like crazy!
Have a great weekend!

Great bar and great bread!!
Oooh, I cannot WAIT to see photographs of your Sunday dinner eats - yum!! :0)
Those trio bars look & sound great! I love that you can still really "see" their ingredients!
Your sneezing comment made me smile. I lived with a family in Guadalajara, Mexico for a summer during grad school & I remember when they would roast chiles - we literally had to get out of the house, everyone's eyes were watering & we were sneezing... it was like a toxic zone, but oh so good!
Those bars look nothing like the bars I have encountered before.
I look forward to drooling over your next meal :P
Thanks for the bread recipe! The bar looks great too...I totally dig nut and dried fruit bars...they are so satisfying and so easy to transport in your gym bag!
Oooo, can't wait for Taco Dinner. You have a great weekend too.
Thanks for sharing the bread recipe. Is that a one-pound loaf?
Kimberly, the recipe is for a 1-1/2 pound loaf.
fun. I always love tips for new products to check out. I'll look for trio. :)
hope you're doing well!
Wow, this bar looks great. I far cry from the candy bars I ate as a kid (thank goodness!).
Thanks for the bread recipe! I'm always on the lookout for good bread machine recipes.
